It seems everybody is an artist nowadays
I don’t know…it just seems many don’t get it
Some you know, do it to deliver messages or preach about some social grievance or some revelation they had
Others do it for some form of personal therapy …like a replacement for some type of deficiency or to correct some hurt
Then there are those who engage in creating art as a way to achieve notoriety and fortune
When you dig into this with folks you realize a large number are in for a rude awakening.
For what they expect of this calling and what it delivers seem to be of different worlds
The creative act occurs on a much higher plane then these singular reasons and truly benefiting from it happens when you leave the above
reasons behind.
I am very interested in witnessing the unfolding of the creative act with my hands and spirit…the collision of forces, of space, energy,
gravity, vectors, movement, interaction and state of being, the narrative and non-conceptual. The possibilities of exploration are endless,
and filtering it all thru you while making something, bearing witness to this act in the form of a work a construction
a sculpture.
